Road defect, m4 junction 10 east

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 07:35, Fri 25 March 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3414568.

On the slip road between A329M and M4 eastbound (J10) in the left hand lane there is a defect in the road which looks a bit like a sunken trench. Going over this causes a loud bang and is going to damage someone's vehicle at some point. Please take a look and repair. It has probably been there a while but the left hand lane of this slip road has only just been reopened in the last few weeks.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning the defect on the slip road between A329M and M4 eastbound.

We’re aware of the difference in carriageway height at this location. Currently this isn’t causing any safety concerns and work isn’t required, however we will continue to monitor this and will arrange any work if the situation changes.

    Kind regards

    National Highways

  • It is not a difference in carriage way height. it is clearly a defect as there is a raw edge to the surface. Will send any bills for tyres/suspension over to National Highways.
