There are ridges across the coastbound carriageway

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 17:40, Tue 15 March 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3391097.

These ridges - very like speed bumps have been on the carriageway since last August and nothing has been done. They go straight across the carriage in 4 places - you cant miss them. I've just had to pay £70 for my tracking to be adjusted and I am certain these have caused the problem. Also very dangerous when riding a motorcycle in this area. Please fix

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways, regarding ridges on the road along this stretch of the A2.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch regarding this matter. I am very sorry to hear of the impact of poor road conditions and please be assured that we do understand and recognise your concerns. Our local safety inspector will continue to review the condition of the carriageway during his safety inspection. We’re currently aware of issue and is currently being monitored by our safety team.

Recognising this issue I can advise that a major scheme is currently under development which will involve full levelling and resurfacing between Nackington and Bridge, with anticipated construction in this financial year 2022/2023. At present I can't provide a date for the works.

In the meantime, we’ll continue to review weekly when any safety issues will be raised for urgent mitigation.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
