Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3388138.

Need to send road sweeper to clear gravel and vegetation debris off the shoulders of the A31 between Canford Bottom and Ameysford Roundabouts. Both Eastbound and Westbound. Thanks.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding debris on the hard shoulder of the A31.

We have arranged for encroaching vegetation in the area to be cut back, and have contacted the local authorities to arrange to clear any litter and debris on the hard shoulder, as sweeping is their responsibility.

In future, issues regarding litter and minor debris such as gravel on this road should be directed towards the Dorset Council.

Contact details for local authorities can be found by using the search facility at: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-council.

    Thank you,

    National Highways

  • Many apologies, after looking at it again, the worst debris and vegetation encroachment on the A31 is actually west of Canford bottom, between there and the A349 Roundabout; is it possible to pass this on to get this stretch of road cleared as well/instead? Apologies for the confusion.
