Subway lighting, leading to Castle Road

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting (NH) category anonymously at 22:19, Thursday 3 March 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

The subway lights have been non-functional for over 3 months and still not resolved. Do you have any idea how intimidating it is for a single female to push a pram through a subway when you can't see your hand in front of your face??? People are running across the dual carriageway to avoid going through it at night. PLEASE SORT THIS OUT - ITS DANGEROUS

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the subway lighting.

We carried out a repair on the lights and they were working for a short amount of time. However, as you’re aware, they’re now out again which indicates that there is a bigger issue which is tripping the lights.

We’re currently looking into this to identify what the this bigger issue may be. Until we know this, we aren’t able to give a date for when these lights will be operational again, but please be assured that we’re working to find a solution.
