Regular flooding on West Bound Carriagway due to blocked near side drains

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3346853.

This road over the last six months had flooding across at one point, it appears to be debris, blocked drains. I drive this route every day for last 12 years. You can see the debris. Usually, just after leaving postwick junction, heading West, go over the viaduct and it floods just at the end.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the flooding hotspot on the A47 near Postwick Jct. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

    The route inspector has marked the gullies along this stretch of the A47 EB and WB as defected. These should now be cleared within 7 days by our contractors. The clearing of the gully top debris and detritus on the A47 EB and WB was due to be started on the evening of 28/02/2022.

    Once cleared, our inspectors will continue to monitor the area to ensure future flooding is prevented.
