Dangerous trees / Broken Boundary Fence

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 10:33, Sun 20 February 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3327196.

M3 Northbound verge Location to rear of properties No’s 5 to 12 Cheviot Close GU14 9HS During the storm of 18 February 22 a large tree has fallen at the end of the garden of no 12 The tree currently seems to be supported precariously by another tree which, at the moment, is preventing it falling into the garden. There are other tall trees along that verge that are covered in ivy and look as if they may be dying. The prevailing wind over the years has left them leaning towards the properties. These trees are over forty five years old and have reached a height that if they fell towards any of the properties would pose a serious risk to life and damage to the properties. It is quite possible that a tree could fall across the motorway!! The boundary fence along the access footpath behind these properties has also been blown down.

Updates

  • We noticed that nothing appears to have been done regarding the fallen tree and we can hear creaking noises coming from the surrounding trees which are supporting the fallen one
