Traffic lights causing disruption travelling Westbound

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 08:35, Tue 15 February 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3312100.

The traffic lights at the King George Dock roundabout travelling west bound are causing up to twenty minutes worth of delays at 17:00 onwards. Happened last night and also last week. Appears the problem with the East bound lights has moved westbound??

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways via Fix my Street on 15 February about the traffic signals and delays on the A63/A1033. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us about this issue.

We’re aware of the faults with traffic signals throughout areas of the A1033 Northern Gateway and A63 Roger Millward Way and that this is causing additional congestion. We are sorry for the delays this has caused to your journeys and would like to assure you that we’re working hard to fix the problem as soon as possible.

We have recently carried out roadworks in the area of A1033 Northern Gateway which affected the traffic loops in the carriageway. This has meant there has been a problem with the traffic signals operations in this area. Resurfacing was scheduled to take place last week on the A1033 Northern Gateway, unfortunately due to resource issues, this was postponed. We are now hoping to carry out some interim work this week 24 and 25 February which should improve the operation of the signals at Northern Gateway until the works can be completed.

Regarding the A63 Roger Millward Way we can confirm that our contractors were on site on 11 February to investigate the problem. When we get feedback from our contractors we will update you on timescales for the fault being resolved. We are treating this fault with high priority and aim to have it fixed as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and we’ll keep updating timescales for resolving the fault on our Facebook and Twitter pages @HighwaysYORKS #A63 or #A1033 and https://www.facebook.com/ HighwaysYorks/

Thank you again for contacting us about this matter. We hope that our response has satisfactorily answered your query. If you require any further information, please contact us via the National Highways Customer Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone 0300 123 5000 or by email at info@highwaysengland.co.uk.

Alternatively you can report general maintenance issues such as litter and grass cutting by our online reporting tool online reporting or visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    State changed to: Fixed
