M61 after junction 2 slip road towards Leigh and Preston

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3301808.

Approximately 1915 Saturday, 06 February. Changing lanes on M61 westbound towards Preston after M60 junction 15. Tyre blew out after running over a pothole that wasn't visible due to wet weather conditions. In the process of claiming for repair work on my car. Please can this be looked at.

  • I want to report very poor signage tonight at about 22:30. At J2 M61 overheads reported traffic queues & 50mph restrictions. I joined M60 south - no issues & very light traffic. A mile or beyond are a small section of roadworks. After leaving roadworks shortly after the overheads again reported queuing traffic & 50 restrictions. Then there were yellow roadside signs showing middle & outside lane shut on approach to M602 which forms inside / 3rd lane. This implied the M60 was shut. It wasn’t! Traffic very light. Then after junction the overheads again reported queuing traffic with 50 restrictions then to 40. But Immediately after this it showed derestricted! In summary all signage completely inaccurate & therefore of no purpose or value! With empty roads & 40mph restrictions it’s actually dangerous if I drop to 40 & others drive at 70.
