Unnecessary Lane Closure

Thank for removing the unnecessary cone placement blocking one of the lanes on the northern and eastern side of junction 17 over the past month, however the cones have now been moved to the southern and western side, closing a lane, and due to the placement is potentially dangerous for cars coming from A429, B4122, and the western exits of the M4 due to a lack of warning and high speed the vehicles will travel at around that section. It is clear that someone has oversight of this debacle and is instructing someone as the cones have moved. The good news is that there is indication ongoing work is taking place below the junction with scaffolding, on the opposite side of the junction that is no longer closed and looking at the side now blocked, nothing. There are no obstruction, equipment, workmen, hazards, or any work taking place during the closure at peak times so the lane closure is unnecessary. This is causing delay of at least 45 minutes for commuters, increasing fuel consumption of vehicles (which is already a premium), and increasing emissions. This is not acceptable and something must be done, at least a response as I do not think we need to wait until the 10th or even the 16th February 2022 for a response to issues raised over a week ago when this could be resolved with a simple phone call to the project manager. Please can the cones be removed (at least during peak hours), or justification for the cones being in place. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
