Very poor resurfacing

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 23:47, Thu 3 February 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3288562.

About three months ago the shared cycle/footpath beside the slip road was dug up in two locations and very poorly resurfaced. It is extremely bumpy and dangerous. A prior report of this was incorrectly closed as being marked the responsibility of the council. This is not the case, it is National Highways land and responsibility. Another prior report said it would be inspected, but there has been no update or improvement since.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning the condition of the shared cycle/footpath and please accept our apologies for any earlier miscommunication.

The path lies within our area of responsibility. Our local inspector is aware condition which is due the path falling under our ongoing drainage scheme through Falmer, with temporary repairs in place. Permanent repairs will be carried out as we reach completion of the scheme which will be reviewed by our inspector during his regular safety inspections.

    Kind regards
