Huge bump in road (lane 1 westbound)

Not sure if it is a pothole or something dead on the road but I was driving along in lane 1 (slow lane) westbound and I hit a huge bump in the road. It jarred me and lifted me out of my seat but it was pitch black (5.45pm) and there is nowhere to stop at the moment due to the roadworks so I didn't feel safe stopping to check. I came off at the next junction (6) to check I my vehicle was damaged but again it is dark so there is nothing obvious. I am concerned that someone will hit this wrong and ultimately cause an accident so I have also reported to the non emergency police number.

Very bad rut or channel across the left hand lane, westbound, on the bridge over the roundabout at J5. Gave an aggressive hard jolt, at 45 mph. (Have just spent another large sum on car work, as a result of potholes, and want to avoid yet more damage.) Is it perhaps unfinished work, or new problem, after last weekend's closure for works? It could do with urgent attention.
