Footpath adjacent to slip off M1 on A46

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting (NH) category anonymously at 14:14, Monday 10 January 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

Leicestershire County Council have informed me that are not responsible for the footpath adjacent to this section of road and jurisdiction falls to yourselves; as it falls within the land boundary of a trunk road - despite the street lights having LCC notices on them.

The street lights have been out of service for many years, making this section of footpath very dark, which is concerning in the winter months as it is a through fare from Kirby to Glenfield for pedestrians.

  • Leicestershire County Council have since been out and removed their information off the lampposts.. so I guess we are at an impasse. Thank-you for your guidance and support
