Potholes A52 and A6097 and A612

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 11:34, Mon 10 January 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3228760.

Potholes are becoming ridiculous on this stretch of the A52 between the new junction in Radcliffe on Trent that is being developed along to the junction to the Cotgrave junction. They are becoming bad for cars all along that stretch and beyond and even worse for Motorcycles. It is a wonder no-one has been seriously hurt. It would have made more sense repairing the road in that area rather than wasting yet more money on a further new junction that creates a fight for drivers to get from two lanes back to one, as we already see at the previous suctions at the RSPCA junction and Cropwell Road. Please get these repairs completed. We have even worse conditions on the A6097 at Gunthorpe Bridge to Oxton, but really bad just after the bridge passing the caravan sales and car sale areas. Both ares have been without repairs for months and has only got worse with the winter weather. We have similar poor conditions on the A612 between the Lowdham Roundabout and Burton joyce. seriously dangerous when you are having to swerve to avoid these holes and ridges along roads it is seriously dangerous. Please get these repaired before someone gets really hurt. Cheers.

Updates

  • We’re aware of the sections of surface where you referring to. As part of the scheme currently taking place on the A52 and at Gamston roundabout resurfacing will also be completed. Should the scheme not cover some areas they will be added to our proactive patching scheme due for completion by April. As for the A6097 and A612 these are the responsibility of Nottinghamshire County Council.

  • Re above the A52 road is getting worse ,please don't leave it too long as you will have even more work to do plus the danger of someone getting seriously hurt.

  • Big potholes that need temporary repairs opposite RSPCA Radcliffe travelling towards Nottingham.

  • A year later and these potholes are still an issue. Last night someone slammed their brakes on which meant I had to do the same just as I was filtering onto the left exit lane on the A52 at the RSPCA to turn into Radcliffe. This caused people further behind me to suddenly brake and could have caused a terrible accident. The multiple hole on this stretch of road are now so deep and so many that it is impossible to avoid them especially when it gets dark. Also exiting Radcliffe onto the A52 turning right towards Nottingham there are holes in the center of that junction as well as the whole stretch from there to the bridge which was destroyed when there was work being carried out. I use this road most days and it will definitely be taking its toll on my car having hit potholes that seem to get noticeable worse after bad weather where the repairs from previous repair have suddenly broken down. I understand there seems to be so issues of safety reported by workers which I am shocked by but surely there must be a resolution that protects the driving safety of all the road users who need to use this stretch of road on a daily basis? I have tried to open a new pothole report but there seems to be an issue with this as not allowing.
