Compromised slipway Hightown Hill/Crow, A31 westbound, Nr. Ringwood

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 16:19, Thu 30 December 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3205974.

The Hightown/Crow slipway off the A31 is very short and narrow. The slipway length is entirely overgrown along its curb side, making it narrower, and the driver cannot properly judge where the edge is. The A31 is parallel and you want to get over as far as possible from the 70mph traffic, but the veg is forcing you out further in the slipway. It has been this way for a few years & getting progressively worse. So much so that I have decided to contact you as I feel it is a safety issue.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning overgrown vegetation.

I've spoken to our Maintenance Team who will visit the site and assess for any required action. However I can't confirm an exact timescale but this should be checked in the 7 days.

This does not mean that this will be cut back but if the teams think it is required it will be cut back within appropriate timescales

    Kind regards

    National Highways
