Persistent flooding for months after moderate rain falls

You must have been aware for months regarding the flooding of the A303 at the Upottery which often now occurs on a regular basis. A303 Blackdown is a nightmare at the best of times Again on the 27 Dec the road was only passable for one direction at a time without any traffic control assistance TRAFFIC JAMS EAST and WEST were again Horrendous Please see to permanent REMEDIAL works as a PRIORITY and al least do something to assist this route and ease the Situation

  • Thank you for your report concerning flooding on the A303.

    This has been reviewed by our drainage and service delivery team. This is being caused by water that is running off third party land. Our inspectors have been to site and confirmed that the drains are clear of debris.

    We're not currently aware of any specific flooding problem at this location, however it's difficult to know exactly to pinpoint based on this information and the placement of the pin. In the coming weeks we'll be reviewing drainage issues that may have occurred over the Christmas period, if we do find an issue here, it will be dealt with accordingly.
