Blocked ditch below M27 between J1 and 2 eastbound

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 10:31, Thu 16 December 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3183408.

A drainage ditch (advised by Highways England to be the responsibility of National Highways) is blocked with years of accumulated vegetation. At times of medium to heavy rainfall, the surface water from the M27 which runs into this ditch then spills in a south east direction along Newbridge Road (under the M27 bridge) and then south west round the corner towards (and on occasion into) a property called Riverside. Clearing the ditch would allow Copythorne Parish Council and the Hampshire County Council Flood & Water Management Team to discover whether the ditch has a dead end or is supposed to flow though a culvert under Newbridge Road.
