Large pothole between A11 and Bottisham turn off

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 13:27, Tue 14 December 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3179429.

Large pothole across fast lane on westbound carriageway. Was overtaking and didn't see it until too late. One (4-month old) tyre ruined and this morning the tyre pressure light has come on again so potentially looking at replacing a second. Appears to have been there for several days judging by other reports on here for the same location.

Potholes can be hazardous and we have processes in place to ensure they are made safe quickly. We also carry out frequent safety inspections where potholes and other defects are recorded. We then carry out repairs prioritising the most serious.

I have been in contact with the local route inspector who informs me that an immediate repair was raised and completed with a permanent repair scheduled to be completed within 28 days. This will be weather dependent .
