Timing issue

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 11:02, Tue 14 December 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3178960.

Traffic travelling west on West Drive seems to be on timer rather than sensor, resulting in delays for other directions while waiting for non-existent vehicles on West Drive.

The second issue is that the timing for traffic heading south, turning west on to West Drive have a very short timed green light, as a result of which traffic cannot clear at busy times - usually a maximum of 9 vehicles.

These issues arose following the last revision of the settings.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 11:43, Tue 11 January 2022

  • These lights are still faulty, priority given to the quiet side streets (west drive) causing long queues on amounderness way.... Even in the early hours when there is no traffic it is not uncommon to be sat at a red light for several minutes while the green light shows for non existent traffic on west drive! This issue has been reported to you several times over the last few years yet nothing has been done, if it is not resolved soon I'll be making a formal complaint to my local MP

  • I can see that you have had other e mails regarding the timings of the lights at West Drive, Cleveleys with the junction of the A585. Could i ask how many complaints does it take before something is done? I first e mailed in June 2021.

  • Yesterday an Ambulance had to wait at the lights for 3 minutes as they are timed wrong. The blue lights were on and they knocked off the siren. Everyone was doing their best to move but it was gridlocked waiting for the lights to change. Nothing came though the green light ( West Drive west bound) for 30 seconds

  • The sensors on these lights desperately need looking at, because the sensors aren’t working it is resulting in causing unnecessary queues, thereby increasing emissions in the local area.

  • The timing of these traffic lights, first reported over a year ago, is dire. The A585 Junction with West Drive traffic on the A road often has to wait on RED whist there is no traffic on West Drive.

  • Still the same issue with these lights. I travel through this area at 4.30am and am stuck waiting on the A585 whilst the lights go through the whole cycle of green lights on West Drive, even though there are no cars waiting or approaching. It is even worse at busy times, cars backed up both sides on the A585 while nothing is travelling on West Drive. I see it has been reported several times with nothing done, so as someone has already mentioned, it must be time to contact the MP.

  • Not to mention 2 police cars involved in 2 separate RTA's at this junction. How long before something is done. I first reported June 2021 !!!!

  • This is really really taking the p1ss. How long do we have to wait for someone from this 'Agency' to do something about it? Does anyone with any consideration for road users actually read these updates? Let me guess... since COVID, no-one is around to do anything about this...? or the three folk who do 'work' there are all woke eco-friendly, multiple degree (and A* GCSE) educated vegans, who don't own a motorised vehicle, and have only ever walked anywhere or used a fold up bicycle (with clips)... Surely this must get a least a response from one of them.....? Even if its just an acknowledgement that i am way wrong and they cannot wait to help out, its just, well...this isn't somewhere 'dahn sarf' where they're all really important but hate talking to each other.... COME ON PEOPLE! SORT IT OUT..... Let me guess...I've breached some wording protocol now, upset a snowflake, and now we're going to get ignored until i apologise....

  • How much longer do we have to sit at a red light, causing unnecessary pollution, waiting for nonexistent traffic coming from West Drive?

Posted anonymously at 12:51, Mon 30 May 2022

  • I'm still sat there...since May 30th....someone let me cross...! please.......

  • Clearly highways don’t care about the increased emissions caused by unnecessary standing traffic.

There is nothing special about this junction that means a solution can’t be found, the road sensors are already in place.

Have spoken to a councillor and still nothing happens, what’s the point
