Series of signs indicating reduced speed due to “Workforce In Road”

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 22:43, Fri 3 December 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3159031.

Sudden reduced speed to 50 mph overhead signs starting around junction 6 at about 4.30am on Friday 01/12/21. The signage continued for several miles, overhead and roadside, reducing to 40 mph and indicating lane closures ahead, directing traffic to right hand lane only due to “Workforce in Road”. This was completely unnecessary as there was no work being carried out - no coned off lanes or evidence of workforce, and only served to delay and frustrate motorists. o
