Road Markings nearly invisible

Reported via desktop in the Road markings category anonymously at 12:14, Monday

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

I use this roundabout daily and the markings are non existent - there appears to be accidents on a weekly basis as no one knows which lane they should be in. Requires works urgently

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the road marking at M42 junction 10.

We are aware of the issues and repair works are planned for the near future. This work was due to be completed a few months ago but unforeseen circumstances meant we had to cancel this work

The issues aren't currently safety critical as the stop/give-way markings are still in place and signs are out to advise of no markings. No lane direction markings are not safety critical.

    Kind regards National Highways

  • "The issues aren't currently safety critical"..... You seriously cannot be serious???... Get your inspector to have a drive round this roundabout at night, not only have you just simply left this roundabout in a dangerous state, you dont even have the street lights working to give drivers a chance. You simply just put up a road sign stating "no road markings on roundabout"

The markings are in a dreadful state, yes the stop/ give way markers are still in place, but what about the strip of markers dividing each lane, that is where the real issue lies...this is the problem that is causing the issues, im a hgv driver that uses this roundabout daily and have seen several accidents caused by cars drifting all over the place into each others path. Surely this is not that big of an issue to fix?? Highways are just not interested.
