Litter everywhere all the verges and central reservations

Litter of long standing is a big disgrace and danger to wildlife and livestock as it blown around hanging on trees and it is being ignored and left with little deterrent to the perpetrators ie motorists. When is something going to be done about this problem in the light of such a concern about environmental issues and global warming yet our roads are covered by litter plastic????????

Thank you for contacting National Highways with regards to litter on the A1 on 22 November. The A1 trunk road from the M62 to Redhouse Doncaster is under the remit of National highways for maintenance and improvements. However litter and sweeping remains under the remit of the Local authority on trunk roads under the EPA (environmental protection act) As such tin this location it would be the remit of Wakefield Council 0345 8 506 506 and Doncaster Council 01302 736000 to remove litter.
