Very bumpy uneven road towards Dover from faversham
Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 21:10, Sat 20 November 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3135000.
There is a section of the road that is very uneven and feels like your driving over baby speed bumps this is very harsh on vehicles going towards Dover on the A2, constantly seeing this road closed but for some reason never see this section resurfaced, the carriageway in the opposite direction is closed one lane until next year if this helps locating the section in question. There is a road sing just before the section in question stating the uneven road But unfortunately the bumps are not avoidable as they are in lanes one and two

Thank you for your report concerning regarding uneven road surface towards Dover from Faversham on the A2.
Thank you for taking the time to get in touch regarding this matter. I am very sorry to hear of the impact of poor road conditions and please be assured that we do understand and recognise your concerns. Our local safety inspector reviewed the condition of the carriageway during his safety inspection last week and advised that we’re currently aware of issue and is currently being monitored by our safety team since August 2021. At this stage the location is not considered to be a safety defect.
Recognising this issue I can advise that a major scheme is currently under development which will involve full levelling and resurfacing between Nackington and Bridge, with anticipated construction in the next financial year 2022/2023. I’ll be happy to keep you updated when further information is available.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to review weekly when any safety issues will be raised for urgent mitigation.
Kind regards
National Highways
