Glass on the cycle path

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
I've been cycle commuting across the bridge on average 2-3 times a week for the last 3 months and in that time I've had 4 punctures from glass picked up on the bridge. I have puncture resistant tyres. When it's sunny you can see the cycle path is covered in broken glass. I often stop at the end of the bridge to pick the shards out of my tyres which is no fun and not really practical now that the evenings are dark. I'm not aware that the paths have been swept at all in this time.
Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the footpath on the M48 bridge. We shall look into this issue and aim to provide a response by 292/11/21.
Can we please ask that you check back on this date for an update.

Thank you for your report concerning the condition of the footpath on the M48 bridge.
Upon reviewing the path, we agree that its cleanliness is not to the standard we would expect.
There has been an issue procuring the correct sweeper due to the weight restrictions on the cycle track, however this is now in hand and we will improve the footpath as soon as possible.
We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and will increase the frequency of our inspections to ensure this doesn't happen again.
State changed to: No further action
