Traffic lights Not Working Correctly

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 09:57, Tue 9 November 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3112690.

Since 1st November the lights here are not functioning correctly and cause long queues down the a12 for up to three miles. They are not letting enough cars out, might be down to them not dealing with the clock change but either way, the sequencing is far too short. (its happened before at this location) its causing some serious issues with Bad driving and near misses aplenty each morning with those that think it is their divine right not to have to queue and having stationary traffic on a three-lane stretch is never good

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the Light sequence on the A12. We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.

Traffic detectors within the road surface are used to monitor traffic patterns. Our local inspector has visited this location and found that these are faulty. We have raised this fault and repairs will be made accordingly to these sensors.

Thank you again for contacting us.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
