Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage category anonymously at 13:21, Thursday 28 October 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
The drain is blocked causing the road to flood. The next drain along doesn't catch much water so the water builds up in the dip as there is no drain in the dip. The water is being spayed across the road into oncoming traffic and into the fields by HGVs.
Thank you for your report concerning a blocked drain on the A595 at Moss Side, we can confirm that there was debris inside a nearby catchpit which was removed on 2 November. This freed the remaining flood water in the chamber. The inspector is going to monitor the situation to ensure the problem does not persist.
Kind regards National Highways
