Debris all along central M1 reservaiton like tyres, bumpers etc
Reported via desktop in the Litter (NH) category anonymously at 17:05, Tue 26 October 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3086240.
Large dangerous debris like wheels, tyres and bumpers are littering entire M1 central reservation and nearside verges along this section. Looks to have never been cleared since road was uprated to all lanes running. The responsible Management contractor should be held to account for this.

There is a significant amount of debris along the southbound side of the central reservation of the M1, along with piles of builtup mud/silt, some with not insignificant plant growth on them. A contractors safety helmet was also seen. Who is responsible for clearing this?

Yesterday Friday 6th June 2025 approximately 11.50 am I was in the centre Lane between junctions 36/37 northbound when I felt a rumble under my rear offside tyre. I looked in my mirror and saw a piece of black debris about the size of a mobile phone. Seconds later my red dsnger message came on that there was a problem with the rest offside tyre and the pressure started to go down quickly. I pulled over. It took mex3 hours to get sorted. After first 10 minutes another lady pulled up behind me, same problem, same debris only it was her nearside rear tyre. I spoke with Mercedes to get my breakdown organised and tge told me they had had another person that morning with the same problem! How many cars need to get damaged or worse still, if their car is older and does not tell them they have a problem, which could lead to a fatality. I know you can't monitor every inch but I already pay to use the roads so why should I have to pay for yet another tyre, 3rd one in two months! Can I make a claim?
