Southbound Lanes , extreme surface water runs across both Southbound lanes whenever it rains, drainage/camber issue, high risk of vehicles aqua-planing

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 17:50, Fri 22 October 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3078988.

Drainage/repair of roadway at this point on Southbound lanes (on patch re-surfaced after recent vehicle fire last year) has resulted on extreme water run across over both Southbound lanes whenever smallest of rain falls.

High risk of vehicle aqua-planing at this point as either failed drainage/ road repair is resulting in extreme cross road running water over both southbound lanes at this location with smallest of rainfall

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the issue with flooding on the A3 southbound lanes near Hindhead Tunnel.

We are aware of the issue, this is a low point in the carriageway and a flood board is in place to warn drivers. I can assure you the area will be continually monitored.

    Kind regards

    National Highways

  • The litter along the A3 from the M25 to the Haslemere tunnel going North and South is dreadful and needs clearing I have contacted Surrey C C and they say it is your responsibility
