We appreciate your concerns and are grateful for you taking the time to report your observations. Our team delivering the A585 Windy Harbour to Skippool bypass scheme became aware of an issue recently with the traffic light timings. Failed sensors buried in the carriageway of the adjacent local authority road network, which are linked to our traffic lights here, were identified as the cause of the issue.
We replaced the failed sensors in late September, but a subsequent assessment earlier this month revealed additional failed sensors (also on the local road network) linked to the traffic lights at the crossroads. The failed sensors were replaced overnight on 26 October and the traffic lights are now working as per their design. We plan to assess the suitability of the current timings in the near future and to adjust them where appropriate to suit am and pm peak period traffic flows.
