Mandatory signals set no traffic issues

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue category anonymously at 09:32, Monday 18 October 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

Signals both M62 East and West between junction 11 and M60 interchange are set to 60 mph and have been for more than 1 week. No issues with traffic flow, obviously this makes the speed cameras live which is totally unfair.

  • Thank you for your report concerning a reduced speed limit on the M62. On the M62 between junctions 10 and 12 we are urgently addressing a potential manufacturing fault with roadside message signs. As a mitigation measure, until we have resolved the issue, we have introduced a temporary speed limit of 60 mph. The smart motorway remains covered by CCTV and closely monitored by our control room staff. We would like to thank drivers for their patience and we will endeavour to minimise disruption as much as possible while we continue to address the repairs

    Kind regards
