Hello I was driving from Manchester to Sheffield (eastbound) yesterday for a first time since long ago and had to cross the roundabout where the A616 & A61 roads intersect. There are new markings since you were doing some repair/upgrade works there. So I was very careful where I was going and of course was trying to follow the road markings as to where I should be pointing the vehicle. Of course I knew I was going south on M1 afterwards so reading the M1(S) I confirmed to myself I was in the correct lane 2. (Strangely you have left the indication for M1 in the first lane a bit vague - just M1 hmmm...) So following the markings I ended up in the overflow lane of the third exit which is the correct one for M1(S) but one would have the gut feeling that something isn't quite right especially in heavy traffic where people who drive this route quite frequently would intentionally take lane 1 and naturally exit in the third exit without having to "merge" as I did... Now looking at the old google map view it is evident that lane 1 naturally led to exits 1 & 2, lane 2 led to exits 3 & 4. Now it doesn't take an engineering degree to figure out this creates a potential hazard - I bet I wasn't the only one surprised there. Also if you looked at the timing of the traffic lights - it allowed me to catch on with the traffic in front and almost overtake the blue clio - well I'm a careful driver so I take it easy. And who in their right minds puts a "Warning Road Narrows On Right Road Sign" after the road has actually narrowed on the right... You know that's not in accordance with the Traffic sign manuals right?

I think the road markings must be reviewed and rectified because they create a potential hazard. Cars in lane 2 should be naturally directed into the third exit and not in the overflow lane of the third exit instead. Left lane shall be marked M1(N).
