Updates

  • Smart motorways work as a system, with technology and infrastructure working together. If there is a problem with any one part of the system, other parts remain active to help keep traffic moving safely. On the M62 between junctions 10 and 12 we are urgently addressing a potential manufacturing fault with roadside message signs. As a mitigation measure, until we have resolved the issue, we have introduced a temporary speed limit of 60 mph. The smart motorway remains covered by CCTV and closely monitored by our control room staff. We will endeavour to minimise disruption as much as possible while we continue to address the repairs. Apologies for any confusion, and for the interruptions to your journeys.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything else we can help you with, please telephone or email our contact centre (0300 123 5000 or info@highwaysengland.co.uk)
