Concerns over traffic management

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 10:33, Thursday 14 October 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

40mph South bound ends just before this busy dangerous, 4 way, junction. Cars accelerating to 70 mph make crossing the A1 very challenging. All junctions to west of A1 closed for 5 miles so increased throughput at junction creating stacking issues on right turn/central pocket. signage placement blocking already limited visibility and confusing some. would it be safer extend south bound 40 mph to after this junction?

Updates

  • Thank you for your patience whilst we reviewed your report. Our diversion route takes traffic on to the A1 at the Swarland south junction, not the Guyzance.

Any additional traffic at this junction is down to the public not following the diversion, which we have no control over.

However we have taken your comments on board and moved the speed restriction south of the Guyzance junction on the southbound side. Northbound is already at 40mph and down to single lane.
