Overgrown Vegetation on footpath

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) category anonymously at 14:07, Wednesday 13 October 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

This problem has been reported several times. The footpath along side the A1 north side from Water Newton up to Stibbington is impassable due to overgrown vegetation. This is our only pathway out of the village connecting us to our local surgery and local shop in Wansford. The village council has had complaints from non villages trying to use the pathway asking who is responsible for its maintenance. This i forwarded onto Highways England. Our village footpath needed clearing and was reported to Hunts district coucil at the same time and they cleared it with two weeks. Please let me know when the work can be done to clear the A1 footpath so i can report back to our village council

  • Dear Mr Robinson

Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the vegetation of the A1 footpath.

I appreciate you taking time to report this and apologise for you having to report this more than once.

I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area and if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut on the footpath.

Thank you again for contacting us.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
