Late night closure of A14 eastbound. Incorrect diversion signage

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3057061.

On leaving A14, due to roadworks closure, the 'diversion' sign directed me back to the A14 westwards. I disregarded this, followed my nose and eventually ended up at the woolpit roundabout, together with several vehicles following me ! It took about half an hour, I was completely lost. My Daughter followed your sign, was also lost but ended up back in Bury at midnight. Please can your sign erectors be given better instruction.

    Thank you for contacting us via Fix My Street regarding the diversions off the A14.

    We appreciate you taking the time to report this.

    We apologise for the inconvenience caused by our works on the A14. These works were carried out by our Service Provider, Ringway. We have passed your observations onto them and they have assured us that the diversion route was clearly signed.

    The diversion route was particularly long, however, it was chosen as the roads are suitable to withstand heavy traffic.

    We will continue to monitor our diversion routes alongside customer feedback.
