No Street lighting working

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting category anonymously at 22:16, Saturday 9 October 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

For a number of weeks all of the street lighting in this area has been out. This reduction in lighting increases the risk of danger to the many road users that use this area. There would appear to be no rush or appetite to get the fault rectified.

Updates

  • We have just had our contractor complete some electrical testing on this route and we are awaiting the final results. As a result of their initial findings a decision was made to turn off the electrical assets at this location to reduce any potential risks. We will then be able to determine the level of work required to repair this area of the network, and process this accordingly.

  • 4 weeks has now elapsed since the Highways department provided a status Surely the Contractor has provided a status of the problem to the Highway department ? Why can't temporary lights not be installed in this location. Is it really going to take an accident or someone getting seriously injured for something to be done ?

    State changed to: Fixed
