Highly dangerous at busy time

No signage to tell you the motorway is liable to back up in the first lane when the traffic lights at the bottom of Junction 34 Lancaster are busy. Standing traffic in the first lane as vehicles narrowly miss you be darting into the 2nd lane, approach to the junction is on a corner. Highly dangerous

  • It seems that the issue with queuing is caused by the loops on the exit slip and the traffic signals on the A683 not working together effectively. Ownership and responsibility for the lights at this junction still lies with Lancashire County Council. We did arrange for a portable variable messaging sign to be placed on the approach to the exit slip to warn of queuing.
