Road surface has lot's of damage and pot holes for approximately 70 meters

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3016981.

Road surface is absolutely shocking for 70 meters on the west bound carriageway. It has pot holes and the tarmac is missing in sections. It's caused damage to my vehicle as I use this road every day for work and can not avoid the damaged area of the road as it's in the driving line.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about the condition of the stretch of the A27. Please be assured that we're aware of this and we're currently designing a scheme to address this by way of resurfacing and replacement of the damaged loops, prior to a full resurfacing scheme ‘A27 Sompting to Lancing’ in our forward programme for 2022/23. We also carry out weekly safety inspections of the A27 when any safety defects are reported for urgent mitigation. Residents will be advised once the scheme in design is finalised.
