Road marking needs to be renewed at entrances to petrol station etc.

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 10:40, Tue 14 September 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2999858.

There are three or four points where the cycle path crosses the entrances and exits to various businesses here. The white paint is quite worn in places, making it unclear that drivers need to give way to cyclists crossing these entrances. The surface of the cycle path is unpleasant for cycling, being quite rough, with a bollard in the middle of the path, and a number of dropped kerbs where the kerb isn't flush with the tarmac. Some improved measures to reduce the speed of vehicles turning in and out would be welcome.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about road markings.

We are aware of this and our inspector as arranged to have these renewed. We are unable to carry out the works at present due to the Clifton Bridge works, but inspector will continue to monitor on his safety patrols.

    Kind regards Highways England

  • Hi, now that the Clifton Bridge works are complete, please could you arrange to have the markings renewed here?

The layout of the markings where the pedestrian crossing is could be better - pedestrians have to cross from one side of the cycle land to the other, and it's a bit of a blind bend.

If you could improve the condition of the cycle path surface as well then you'd have some very happy users! There are some pretty rough patches in front of the BP garage.
