Missing crash barrier on motorway bridge over M65

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 17:03, Thu 9 September 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2990919.

The crash barrier running along Stanhill Road right up to motorway bridge over the M65 has been removed. This would enable any car that gets into trouble on Stanhill Road B6234 to veer off onto the M65. As this section of Stanhill Road is reknowned for speeding vehicles over this motorway bridge this is a severe risk. In addition it makes it easier for jumpers to access the external side of the bridge barrier. This is also a reknowned spot for attempted suicides.
