Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
A colleague councillor has counted 16 lighting columns not operational in hours of darkness... I have certainly witnessed (on Sat 4th 2021 at 11pm), there being a significant number out of action! Situation exacerbated by Suffolk County Council works with single-line working on the A154 Candlet Road, which is leading to tailbacks at the roundabout.
Several street lights on the dock spur roundabout have not been working for around 7-9 weeks! This is a major access roundabout to Felixstowe docks & Felixstowe centre. This should be a priority to fix?!!

Thank you for contacting us via Fix My Street regarding the street lights on the A14.
I appreciate you taking the time to report this.
We have previously been to this site to investigate the outages in the area. It was found that there was a lot of water ingress to the underground electrical pits.
We currently have a works order with our lighting contractor to carry out repairs to bring the lighting back to an operational standard and will look at if an above ground system can be installed to ensure these faults don’t persist. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a specific time frame for this work to be completed, however, it is likely to be within the next few months.
Thank you again for contacting us, I hope you find my response helpful.
Kind regards National Highways
