Car through fence adjoining the open forest
Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 09:53, Mon 6 September 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2981704.
A car has come off the slip road and driven through the fence, opening the road up to the open forest. I have propped up the broken rails and posts to stop livestock from entering the road. I believe this has been reported by the Agister but the repair still hasn't been completed so would like to report here also.
As mentioned in a previous report, this is now the second time this year I have had to make a hasty repair on the fence after someone has driven through, and have pulled two cars out of the bush in the same place fortunately not damaging the fence. There is obviously a problem on this slip road that needs rectifying as this is a very common occurrence. I refer also to Jeannie Smith's report FMS2795375, highlighting the missing sign regarding this turning that at present have no plan to be replaced. Either this sign needs reinstating and perhaps wording about a sharp turn, or a crash barrier in front of the fence!
Many Thanks Cllr Jack Smith

Hi,
I have checked and the repairs have not been made. The fence is how I left it temporarily patched up to stop livestock accessing the A31. This is not permanent as posts have been ripped out of the ground in the accident
I would like an update as to the timeline for this fence repair
Many Thanks Cllr Jack Smith
