Streetlighting unlit for ages

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2970151.

The streetlighting along the m55 is unlit, on evenings it gets busy with traffiuc so you'll need appropiate lighting which is not in place. Any plans to renew the lighting? I think it needs desperate attenion. Id say more work needs to be done on the motorways around preston. Theres inoperative streetlighting round jucntion 31a. And it said it will take place over the next 3 years. I think it should be quicker than that

  • We are aware of the issues with the road lighting around junction 1 of the M55 and the M6 between junctions 30 and 32 and have included this location in our regional renewals programme.

    Our intention is to determine the cause of the outages and develop an appropriate resolve prior to implantation. There is also a national deployment strategy that will run in parallel with the regional renewals programme. That will be looking to renew a large majority of the lighting across the North West region with modern LED lanterns. At the moment this is still in its early stages of development and we don’t have any specific details about the programme or estimated timeframes.
