Dangerous road condition. URGENT

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 17:46, Wed 25 August 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2958878.

Please do something about the raised hump across all 3 lanes eastbound. The bridge joint is failing and has created a dangerous situation. It is akin to having a speed hump on a motorway, very dangerous. My car makes a thump when travelling across this and it can only be a matter of time before there is an accident. I fear for motorcyclists. I find it incredible that previous inspections have not considered this to be a concern. Please re-inspect urgently.

  • You should place warning signs to warn of an uneven road surface. This is dangerous.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.

Our inspector visited the location and agrees that remedial work is needed to ensure the safety of road users.

Uneven road signs have been requested.

Although we always aim to complete the repairs as planned, the date may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

We will provide a further update to confirm when the work has been completed or, in exceptional circumstances, a revised date.

    Kind regards National Highways
