Overgrown vegetation blocking view of road

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) category anonymously at 22:56, Friday 20 August 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

The vegetation driving south on the A1 at the retail park roundabout end is blocked by tall vegetation. It blocks the blind spot of cars coming around wide on the outside lane. It needs trimming back ASAP to avoid an accident here!

Updates

  • Thank you for your report about overgrown vegetation on the A1 at the retail park roundabout. I appreciate you taking the time to report this.

We carry out regular inspections of our roads and cut back trees and vegetation where we find that it’s limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals, at junctions or the view ahead. I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area and if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut.

    Kind regards Highways England
