A422 Diversion Route on Highways England Network
Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 15:03, Thu 19 August 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2946083.
Further to yesterdays (17/08/21) report still no Diversion Route Signage on the A46 approach to A46-A44 Roundabout. Pictures taken at 19 August 2021, 10:20am.
The pictures show the Diversion Route Signage at the Approach to the A46/A44 Roundabout.
At this location the Road User has to make a right turn. There is no indication to the Road User that the diversion involves them going RIGHT at the Roundabout and this being on a High Speed Road.
The signage is causing a Hazard to the users of the A46 and i assume does not meet Highways England standard for the signing of a diversion route (E/2.12 Diversion signage shall be provided at every decision point).
As can be seen from the sign on the ground in the pictures the Road User was at some point actually being told to go LEFT.
When you see the Signage on the A4189/A3400 at Henley in Arden for Highways England A46 Diversion it seems to show the standard that Highways England required on a Single Carriageway road.
In a email received today (18/08/21) on behalf of the Worcestershire County Council Chief Executive (Mr P Robinson) from Wendy at Customer Services it states "We will continue to inspect this scheme and its signage for compliance."
Compliance with what ???
