Mud in subway

Reported to Dorset Council (Confirm Enquiry 1176646)

The subway under the A31 between Old Ham Lane and Ham Lane /Wimborne Road West has a lot of mud on the west side on the approach from Old Ham Lane. This is causing a hazard as cyclists travelling in this direct are having to keep to the right at a blind corner. This is the second time i have reported this in the last two years. I think the mud must be washing down from the A31 banking as this section of the footway/cycle route is gated off. Could a convex mirror be placed at this corner please?

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England concerning mud in the underpass.

Our Inspector will go out and assess the issue and request clearence of the mud if necessary.

Regarding placing a convex mirror I've passed this to our Safety Team who'll consider this but currently have no plans for a mirror here.

    Kind regards
