40 MPH speed limit

Reported via mobile in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 19:58, Sat 14 August 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2935744.

Please could you advise me Why there are still 40 mph signs as you enter the A47 postwick heading westbound with no evidence of any continued roadworks! Have they been left by accident or are they still there for a reason it has been a few weeks now

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England.

We are carrying out essential resurfacing between the Postwick junction and Ipswich Road junction on both the westbound and eastbound carriageways of the A47.

Alongside this, we’ll be doing additional maintenance and repairs to safety barriers, replacing road markings and reflective studs (cat’s eyes), new road signs and updating technology.

There will be westbound overnight closures from 8pm to 6am on the A47 between Postwick and Trowse Newton until Wednesday 18 August.

Once this work has finished we will ensure that all traffic management has been collected.

Thank you again for contacting us.

    Kind regards Highways England
