Traffic lights not working
Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 21:58, Thu 12 August 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2932376.
The traffic lights have been out on Junction 11 cannock for 3 weeks, and causing chaos, no signs of problem being fixed, or no explanation to the public of the delay, the traffic is always heavy in that area but now it is past a joke, it is a accident waiting to happen.

I submitted a report about this a couple of weeks ago, and received no acknowledgement. It is plainly obvious that all previous reports are being reports. You need to be taking notice of this!!

Lights still out, temporary lights were facing wrong way yesterday and now laying on the ground. Very dangerous busy junction where lights are urgently needed.

Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your report.
These traffic lights were damaged by an RTC following a police pursuit in the area. The collision took out the traffic signal controller. The controller is main part of the traffic lights that help control how the lights function.
A replacement controller has been ordered however as each site is bespoke there is a lead time associated with the supply as these are built to order. In addition, there is a global shortage of microcontrollers and electronic components which is impacting supply of many technological equipment. A temporary traffic signal system has been installed in the meantime and whilst it’s not as effective as the permanent signals it does provide a degree of control.
We have chased up the order of the controller and are awaiting confirmation of the supply date. Once it has been delivered installation will occur as soon as practicable thereafter.
We can confirm that the repair is now completed, and we hope that this improves your journey.
