Offensive graffiti & "Banksy" style images in M5 subway

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 10:19, Wed 11 August 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2928221.

10 large areas of graffiti images including one with the "f" word; not seen it this bad before. Needs to be cleaned off before more appears! Although there is a sign nearby which says "CCTV in operation" in actual fact there is no CCTV and people seem to know this is the case!

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.

Our inspection team have been to the site and have managed to clear the swear words from the graffiti. As the rest of the graffiti is non-offensive, we’ll make arrangements for this to be removed in due course. To minimise disruption, we will aim to do this at a time that coincides with other maintenance works.

    Kind regards Highways England
