More mud in pedestrian underpass
Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage category anonymously at 18:29, Tuesday 10 August 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
I have notified you previously about the unsafe and unpleasant state of this underpass. Eastleigh Borough has swept some of it out but it is today (10 August) full of mud again. The floor slabs are constantly slippery, the lighting is unreliable and it is unacceptable to have to walk through this all year round.
Thank you for contacting Highways England concerning muddy underpass. We shall look into this issue and aim to provide a response by 24 August.
Can we please ask that you check back on this date for an update.

Our inspector visited the location and agrees that remedial work is needed to ensure the safety.

Although we always aim to complete the repairs as planned, the date may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Kind regards Highways England
